GA Announces
Presidio World College MBA Program in
Sustainable Management
The
Global Academy chairman Walter Link has been seminal in the development of
the Presidio Worlds College MBA Program in Sustainable Management, which
welcomed its first students in 2004. Walter is both an advisor to the
program and a distinguished member of the MBA faculty.
Presidio World College,
based in Berkeley, California, is an affiliate of Alliant International
University, and offers a unique, leading-edge
MBA program in
Sustainable Management.
The
college's MBA program integrates environmental, ethical and social values
with practical business skills. “The program is designed for working adults
who are committed to creating healthier relationships among society, the
environment and business,” says Mr. Link. “In other words, it is for people
who see themselves as change agents and know that ‘business as usual’ is not
a sustainable option.”

Global Leadership
Institute Moves Forward
A
project of the Global Academy and Mediators Foundation, the Global
Leadership Network will gather insights and approaches to leadership from
many different cultures, and synthesize them into a coherent "curriculum"
for both educational and training purposes. It will do so systematically in
order that representatives of every major culture and region will have some
involvement in its design.
GLN
will accomplish this through strategic partnerships with other networks who
are already involved in related efforts and who have access to extensive
international networks. In addition to the contacts of the project’s
organizers (see below), these potential partners include: the Bridging
Leadership Task Force of the Synergos Institute (USA); Civic Exchange
(China), Fundacion Cambio Democratico (Argentina), the Caribbean Leadership
Institute (Surinam), and the Harvard Program on Negotiation (USA). In the
next six months, other partners will be identified, based in Africa, South
Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, each of whom represents additional
regional or global networks.
In summary, the GLN
will:
assemble
a diverse learning community of leadership scholars and practitioners that
can work together effectively to generate a truly global leadership
curriculum and training;
design and test
an effective, dynamic global leadership training program that is
transnational, cross-cultural and integral;
market this unique leadership training program to key networks, institutions
and universities that are shaping leaders who will, in turn, shape our
global future.
